Vail’s Back Bowls Open Saturday

We have received so much new snow that Vail is opening the back bowls on Saturday, December 22nd ahead of schedule. Parts of the bowls opened during the week with the remainder opening Saturday.

Snow Arrives in Summit County

A nice blanket of snow covers Summit County today. A Basin and Loveland ski areas are open with good skiing on 6 inches of fresh snow and blue bird skies. Not bad for October 26! Copper Mountain opens November 2, and Breckenridge comes aboard on November 9!

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum preserves and promotes the Town of Frisco’s heritage and history by presenting an excellent educational museum experience to the community and its visitors, connecting the past, present and future to the world around us.

ADMISSION IS FREE

Frisco’s history in the Mountain West is long and full of passion and prosperity, heartbreak and rejuvenation, going back to the early nineteenth century (and some 5,000 years before that, when you include early settlements of the migrating Ute Indians). To preserve and display that rich history, the Frisco Historical Society and the Town of Frisco officially dedicated the Frisco Historic Park & Museum on July 2, 1983. At the same time, they opened the schoolhouse and park to the public and listed the schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places, and planted the seed for what we now know as one of Frisco’s most significant and entertaining heritage attractions.

Beginning with Labor Day weekend this Friday, August 31st, and throughout the fall, Summit County has beautiful weather, fun events, and loads of activities to enjoy.

The late summer and fall is a great time to:
-Road or Mountain Bike
-Hike
-Take a scenic drive to view the foliage

-Boat on Lake Dillon
-Picnic in one of Frisco’s or Lake Dillon’s parks
-Stroll on Main Street

Frisco is Fantastic this Time of Year

Summer is still in full force here in Frisco! The park has been packed every Thursday for our summer Concert in the Park Series, with people dancing and socializing on beautiful summer nights. No matter what day of the week, Main Street has been very busy with people cycling, shopping, dining, or simply strolling along in the comfortable temperatures.

Cool off by the water and spectate some exciting sailing from some of Colorado’s best young sailors. Lake Dillon will be the place to be July 26-29, with the Dillon Yacht Club hosting the U.S. Junior Olympic Sailing Festival. The weather has finally become more of the norm, with afternoon thundershowers bringing us much needed relief from the drought. In fact, Summit County and the Town of Silverthorne have repealed their fire bans! The towns of Dillon, Frisco and Breckenridge are expected to repeal their fire bans very shortly. The weather has also kept the temperatures down, in the comfortable range of 60′s and 70′s.

Frisco Concert Series 2012!

It’s that time again! Frisco’s concert in the park series is about to blast off!

Starting June 21st and ending August 16th, free weekly concerts will be brought together for a great cause at the historic park gazebo & lawn at 120 Main Street.

9 concerts will be held in between the 21st and the 16th. Check out the schedule and more information here!
