The Frisco Bay Marina season opener is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012.

This year celebrations opening the boating season will have food and drink specials at the Island Grill and outdoor live music in the Marina’s Waterfront Park featuring Easy Foot.

This event is weather-dependent.

Last weekend to ski at Breckenridge!!

Breckenridge Ski Resort has kept its lifts and resort open for two additional weeks past normal closing as part of their 50th anniversary celebration.

As part of the celebration, Breckenridge has been giving away free parking by the gondola. They are also having a sale with 100 pairs of 2 and 3 year old demo skis.

Lift tickets are $50.00 and can purchased online or in person. Season passes will be honored as well.

Sunny Spring Days and Comfortably Cool Evenings

Spring has sprung all around Summit County! With the last few weeks of the 11-12 ski season drawing to a close, our warm weather and sunny days have brought a host of new activities to the area. Bicyclists are out in full force, ranging from the most serious cyclists, to families enjoying each other’s company and the favorable temperatures outside. From the sidewalks of Main Street to the hiking trails all around the County, people are taking advantage of the beauty that surrounds them. When night falls, the temps are still comfortable enough for a starlit walk through town, or down to the lake to enjoy the sounds of water lapping up on shore. Enjoy a day or evening relaxing on the patio of your favorite Frisco restaurant, or savor our complimentary wine outside in our beautiful courtyard!

A Mix of Seasons

A 8″-12″ snowfall blanketed Summit County this morning. Certainly a mix of season’s with our waterfall going in the courtyard, fresh powder on the slopes, and warm temperatures forecast by mid-week, makes it possible to enjoy the high country in many ways!!! Ski, Bike, Hike or just about anything else. Breckenridge is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through th end of April. Loveland has extended their season until May 6th and Arapahoe Basin plans on being open until at least June 3rd!

The Hunt for Eggs is on!!

April 8, 2012 – 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm

Come out to the “Main Street of the Rockies” in Frisco for our annual Kids’ Easter Egg Hunt and search for over 5,000 candy filled eggs. Look for the special eggs with other fun prizes, too! This event is recommended for kids 0-8 years old. There are age-specific areas for kids:

Ages under 3 will be egg gathering in Town Hall.

Ages 3-5 will be egg gathering at the Frisco Historic Park gazebo lawn.

Ages 6-8 will be egg gathering at the Frisco Historic Park upper lawn.

We recommend anyone with older children in their family check out Copper Mountain’s Easter Egg Hunt, where they have Easter events for all ages: Copper will have over 50,000 Easter Eggs as they are the largest Easter Egg hunt in Colorado! Copper is Frisco’s closest resort, located only 6 miles West on I-70 and will also have special prize eggs in addition to their candy-filled eggs.

Don’t forget to see the Ice Castles before they dissapear!

The Ice Castles are a unique creation of walkways, ice formations, tunnels, and arches – all made entirely out of ice with only icicles and water as the sole building material.

Located just off I-70 in Silverthorne. Currently over 20’ tall and about 15,000 tons. See icecastles.com for more info.

It’s mid-March and spring skiing has arrived with awesome days and clear skies making for beautiful bluebird days all around Summit County! March 31 – April 10 brings USASA Nationals to Copper, the largest snowboard and freeskiing event on EARTH! The top regional athletes are all invited to compete to become National Champions. Come watch these amazing athletes and maybe pick up a few tips to improve your own skiing and snowboarding!

The U.S. Snowshoe Association (USSSA) National Championship is primed for the competition at Summit High School on Saturday.
