Cycling

Summit County Bike Guide (Trail Descriptions and Maps)

Description of Summit County Road and Mountain Bike Trails

Summit County offers some of the best cycling in the country. Scenic bike paths reach from Frisco to Copper Mountain, Vail, Breckenridge, Dillon, Silverthorne, and Keystone. Mountain bike trails, both jeep roads and single track are in abundance, There are many bike shops in town, offering rentals and supplies.

Fishing

Summit County offers some of the best cold water fishing anywhere. Try your skill against the various species of Brook, Brown, Cutthroat, and Rainbow Trout, and the Kokanee Salmon.  Popular fishing spots include Dillon and Green Mountain reservoirs, and the many rivers and streams of Summit County including the gold medal waters of the Blue River and the countless backcountry streams.

Sailing and Windsurfing

Lake Dillon has the nation's highest marina with spectacular mountain views and clear blue water. Green Mountain Reservoir, as well as Lake Dillon, offer superb windsurfing for those braving the cool water. Boat ramps are available on all sides of the lakes and marinas are located in Frisco and Dillon.

Golfing

Several championship course to choose from in Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Silverthorne, and Vail. These courses offer challenges of terrain and water, while rewarding the player with outstanding views on each shot.

Hiking

Many scenic backcountry trails in the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area and the Arapaho National Forest offer either a rewarding day hike or a multiple day backpacking adventure. The Frisco Lodge is the perfect base camp for any type of adventure. Trailheads easily accessible from Frisco include North Ten Mile, Meadow Creek, Willow Creek, and the Peaks Trail. For a short, challenging hike, choose the Mt. Royal Trail for a great view overlooking Frisco and Lake Dillon.
