2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and we are all looking forward to the upcoming ski season, which has helped our spirits. As we look into what the ski season will look like, we know it will be a great time on the slopes. Here the latest of what we know up here in Summit county. Hopefully, this will give you some information to help you plan your mountain adventure this winter.

What we know

* The resorts are being very proactive in adopting new systems and procedures to keep their guests as safe as possible. For your safety, you are required to have face covering, maintain physical distancing, and health screenings will be enforced when physical distancing may not be possible, such as ski and ride school. Pass holders will be required to make a reservation before arriving at the mountain within the Vail Resorts mountain collection, and Copper is requiring parking reservations. Arapahoe is limiting their pass sales, and day passes. All of them together are going to limit the number of guests they will be allowed on the mountain each day.

* The resorts are being very proactive in adopting new systems and procedures to keep their guests as safe as possible. Ski resorts implemented a new reservation system to allow them to monitor and limit if necessary, the number of skiers on the mountain for any given day

* On mountain, dining is going to be limited, and in many cases will not be open at all locations. This will include sitting areas in which many enjoy bringing their own bag lunch to eat and snack. At this time, all day lockers are not going to be able to be rented, so if you and your family drive, that will become your new locker! These changes will definitely affect everyone's ski day, but that doesn't mean we still can't have fun! It might take a bit more planning in order to make a great day of it.

* PLAN AHEAD. Even if you haven’t confirmed to come up and enjoy the mountains you should consider booking now. You will save considerably on all parts of your trip from lodging, airfare, lift tickets, and dining.  Peak travel dates are already filling up so book now to ensure availability and a low price.
