It's October in Frisco and we don't want you to miss it. Thinking about enjoying a quick getaway with beautiful mountain views and the family? We got you covered.

Step one. Be right in the middle of the action by staying at the Frisco Lodge.

Step two. In the morning the family can enjoy our complimentary breakfast to get your day started right. Where Mom and Dad can enjoy their lattes, espressos or Vail coffee as the kids enjoy making their own New Belgian Waffles.

Step three. After breakfast, we offer a few free fun ideas for you and your family to enjoy within walking distance of our bed and breakfast. Located just two blocks away is the Frisco Historic Park and Museum. Take your children on an adventure through time. In the schoolhouse, you will find a model replica of the Town of Frisco back in the 1800s. For .25 cents you can watch the train go over and over again. Look for the model of the Frisco Lodge on Main Street. It has two windows with a white false front (that's the Main Lodge at our property built-in 1885).

At the front desk, you may get a passport to start your tour of the museum. Each child has a book to locate the stamp in each historic building. By the end of the adventure, Mom and Dad have a new-found knowledge of our mining town and the kids have a fully stamped book they can show off to their friends and have a memory they can cherish forever.

Step four. Next, we recommend the Rainbow Lake trail. You may drive or walk to the trailhead from the hotel. The lake is approximately 1.3 miles away from our front door. The is a beautiful Aspen filled trail. The kids can enjoy the creeks along the way to skip rocks and pet the dogs that line the fallen leaves. When you reach the end of the trail there is a stunning lake that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Step five. Another fun place to take the kids to is Walter Byron Park, located three blocks from the lodge. Pack lunch, a blanket and enjoy! Mom and Dad can enjoy the sound of the rushing 10-mile river that parallels the park while the kids laugh and play on the interactive playground. This peaceful and serene park is a great way to relax before our happy hour.

Step six. After a long day of having fun, we recommend coming to our Frisco Lodge happy hour. The kids can enjoy a hot cup of cocoa and chef-prepared hors d'oeuvres Mom and Dad can enjoy a few glasses of complimentary wine. #Winning
