Frisco, Colorado … A Culinary Paradise Part Deux!

5th_&_Main_Street.jpgA few weeks ago, we posted a blog about a few of our favorite places to go for lunch or dinner in Frisco while staying at our Summit County bed & breakfast establishment. Well, with over 40 restaurant, café, bar and bistro choices in the Town of Frisco alone, it would be extremely difficult to tell you about them all (maybe you can visit them all and then write your own blog). But, with the Frisco Lodge being in our family for over 50 years, and occupying the same building since 1885, we would like to think that we know a little bit about the culinary choices that are available to all that visit our beautiful piece of paradise.

So, in that vein, here are a couple of more choices that we recommend. But before we tell you, remember that our Summit County bed & breakfast offers a gourmet “made to order” breakfast each morning of your stay and complimentary afternoon wine and hors d’oeuvres so one not need to worry about beginning and ending your active day with something to nosh on. So here we go.

Serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, the Log Cabin Cafe on Main Street has been a Summit County staple for over thirty years. Whether you are looking for a home-style meal that will stick to your ribs, or a healthy alternative, the Log Cabin Café has a little something for everyone. Locals and tourists alike come back again and again because of the friendly service and cozy atmosphere.

Also located just a short walk from our Summit County bed & breakfast is Ollie’s Pub & Grub, serving classic American bar fare that far exceeds people’s expectations of typical bar food. Every item on Ollie’s menu is prepared fresh, with portions large enough to ensure that even the hungriest appetites are satisfied. Whether you are a family with young children or looking to make an evening out of it, Ollie’s caters to it all. With an arcade for the kids to enjoy, a full bar for the adults and 16 HD TVs for the sports enthusiasts, everyone can find their niche at Ollie’s. Great Food, Great Friends and Great Beer are what Ollie’s is all about!

Bagalis.jpgFor the more refined palette, Bagalis Frisco is a classically Italian restaurant that uses only fresh, Colorado-grown products in what they call a “rustic yet sophisticated cuisine.” While Bagalis is not necessarily fine dining, owner and chef Michal Ulehala, together with wife and business partner Joyce De La Torre, have created a comfortable atmosphere with reasonable prices and locally sourced hand-made foods. Bagalis prides itself on casual dining with a great atmosphere while offering a menu that is always changing based on the ingredients that are available in the season. Whether it’s the community table available for families and large groups, the intimate fireside seating, or the friendly bar atmosphere that draws customers in, Bagalis offers something for everyone.

The Log Cabin Café, Ollie’s Pub & Grub and Bagalis Frisco are all conveniently located within walking distance of our Summit County bed & breakfast. If the aforementioned don’t do it for you, check out the Town of Frisco’s dining list to see what else might quench your appetite.
